Chiropractic Care is Not Just for Back Pain!

Chiropractic care isn’t just for back pain as is commonly thought.  The first Chiropractic Adjustment in 1895 helped correct hearing loss. This is how the profession began! Not an adjustment for a headache or a sore back. After this interesting discovery, research into the spine and nerve connections began. We now know that the delicate nerves exiting from the spine travel to all cells, organs, muscles and parts of the body in a known pattern. For example nerves from the first and second cervical region supply the head, eyes, ears, sinuses and face. Irritation of the nerves in this region could cause many negative body symptoms commonly seen like headaches, ear pain, and face symptoms. Nerves in the lower back supply the reproductive organs, the bowels, muscles of the leg and back and irritation of these nerves can cause sciatica or leg pain down the back of your leg and bowel irritation and digestion trouble or reproductive issues.

Your First Visit to a Chiropractor:

Your first chiropractic visit should involve a thorough consultation of your health history, life stresses and traumas as these stresses and traumas are usually what cause problems to develop in our bodies. A chiropractic and neurological examination will also be done which takes about 30 min. It involves a postural assessment, range of motion testing, bilateral weight scale measurements and 3 computerized scans. Your spine will be assessed for alignment, leg lengths and areas of muscle stress and spinal subluxations.
Your results of all exams will be discussed with you and how chiropractic care will help improve your health will be explained.
