Chiropractic Computer Spinal Scans

How Chiropractic Computer Spinal Scans can Help in Diagnosis of Your Health Concerns

At Richmond Family Chiropractic, we use state of the art technology in order to assess the neurological status in your body.  Chiropractic’s focus is improving spinal alignment and nerve flow to the body so the body can work efficiently and the brain and the body can be in good communication with each other.

Three Scans Performed:

Three different scans are used during the initial exam that measure three components of nerve function.  The first measures muscle tension and is called Electromyography.  Muscles are controlled by nerves.  This test shows where abnormal muscle patterns and stress may be occurring in your spine.  The second scan, thermography, measures heat and inflammation along the spine and is a measure of the nerve flow to the organs, glands and blood vessels in the body.  It measures differences in temperature along the spine.  Since proper function of the organs is critical to health, this test gives us an indication of how well this part of the nervous system is functioning.  The third scan, the pulse wave profile, measures heart rate variability which is an indicator of overall health and how your body is adapting to stress in your life.  Low heart rate variability is associated with poor heart health and aging.  Research has shown that chiropractic adjustments have a positive effect on heart rate variability.

All three scores are out of 100.  A good score would be 80 or higher.  If your nervous system is under stress, your scores may be in the 50’s and 60’s.  This gives us valuable information about your current state of health.  After a series of chiropractic adjustments, the body begins to heal and there is less nerve stress affecting our bodies.  When we re-check the three scans after at least 6 weeks of care, we see measurable improvement.   An improvement in the scores means your body is moving towards better health.  Many of our patients will also report an improvement in posture, range of motion, energy, restful sleep, fewer aches and pains, better organ function like improved digestion, less menstrual cramps and fewer headaches.  If you would like a computerized spinal scan, call our office and schedule an examination.
